In memory of the life and work of prominent people of their time Fikryat Akhmedzhanovich Tabeyev and Gumer Ismagilovich Usmanov - memorial plaques with their names installed

In Kazan, memorial plaques have been unveiled for Tatarstan's statesmen F.Tabeyev and G.I. Usmanov.

Memorial signs appeared on house 65 along Bolshaya Krasnaya Street, where Fikrat Akhmedzhanovich Tabeyev and Gumer Ismagilovich Usmanov lived for many years. They  were colleagues at work, like-minded friends.

The event was attended by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, State Councilor of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev,  Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexei Pesoshin,  Chairman of the State Council of RT Farid Mukhametshin, representatives of various government bodies, prominent cultural figures.

In the course of his speech, Rustam Minnikhanov stressed that Fikrat Tabeyev and Gumer Usmanov had made a huge contribution to the development of Tatarstan and Russia.

"Today we are perpetuating the names of our republic leaders - Fikryat Akhmedjanovich and Gumer Ismagilovich. They  created the base that allows our republic to be competitive. Our success is the merit of these people. We should always remember the names of the figures who had  made a significant contribution to the development of our republic and the country, "he said.

Mintimer Shaimiev, in turn, recalled that in 2020 will be 100 years since the formation of the Tatar ASSR. "This is a glorious page in the history of our republic. In this story there were a lot of outstanding political and public figures, - said  State Advisor of the Republic of Tatarstan. - There are no easy times, each period has its own difficulties, but what Fikrat Akhmedjanovich and Gumer Ismagilovich did is very  important. They laid upon themselves all the hardships of that political life and social system, and managed to uphold the interests of the republic in the difficult conditions of a strict planned system. "

Memoirs from family life were shared by the daughter of G.I. Usmanov - Svetlana Gumerovna and the granddaughter of F.A. Tabeyev - Diana Elmirovna.

Then Rustam Minnikhanov, Mintimer Shaimiev and other officials laid flowers to the memorial plaques.

Reference: Fikrat Akhmedzhanovich Tabeyev is a unique large-scale personality, which left a bright mark in the history of development of Tatarstan. Fikrat Akhmedzhanovich was born on March 4, 1928 in the village of Azejevo in the village of Ermishinsky in the Ryazan Region in a peasant family. In 1951 Fikrat Tabeyev graduated from the Kazan State University, worked as a teacher, since 1957 - became a party leader.

Fikrat Akhmedzhanovich played a key role in  developing   machine building, oil and petrochemical industry of the republic. Under his leadership, new oil fields were explored and put into operation, the city of Nizhnekamsk was founded, where large plants were built. In Naberezhnye Chelny, the Kamsky automobile plant was constructed, in Kazan - "Kazanorgsintez", a plant for the production of silicate bricks was opened, new districts of Gorki and Savinovo were built up, a circus, a sports palace, a stadium, the State Council building, a hotel "Tatarstan" were built.

In 1979, Fikrat Tabeyev was appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the USSR in Afghanistan. Since 1986 - worked as First Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR. In 1989 he was elected People's Deputy of the USSR.

Fikrat Akhmedzhanovich Tabeyev died on June 3, 2015 in Moscow.

Gumer Ismagilovich Usmanov is a man of amazing destiny. He was born in 1932 in Chistopol in a large family. At the age of 15 he entered the Chistopol College of Agricultural Mechanization, having graduated  with honors. He worked on a tractor, was a teacher, at 34 he became chairman of the Council of Ministers of the TASSR. For the years of his reign, the construction of KAMAZ, Nizhnekamskneftekhim, the  YelAZ,  the concert hall of the Kazan State Conservatory, a new building Tatar state theatre after  G. Kamal, the Palace of Culture of Chemists, the exhibition hall of the Union of Artists and much more was accomplished.

In 1989, Gumer Ismagilovich Usmanov was elected secretary of the CPSU Central Committee.

Gumer Ismagilovich Usmanov passed away on February 23, 2015 in Kazan.
