The first international miners' Sabantuy was held in Kuzbass

The First International Mining Sabantuy was held in Kuzbass this weekend as part of the agreement between the Governor of Kuzbass Sergei Tsivilev and President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

More than 100 veterans of miners from all over Russia, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan became guests at the festival. In addition, 350 artists from Tatarstan came to Kuzbass, the press service of the Kuzbass administration reported.

 

“Sabantuy in our region has grown from a colorful national holiday into a serious and very friendly platform for interethnic communication. Now the miners' Sabantuy will be held annually, ”said Governor Sergei Tsivilev.

Yesterday, June 27, a parade of workers and veterans of the coal industry took place on Moscow Square in Kemerovo. All-Russian competitions in wrestling Kuresh, children's Sabantuy, national and game programs, contests were also held.

The delegation from Tatarstan was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Chairman of the National Council "Milli Shura" of the World Congress of Tatars Vasil Shaikhraziev, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Damir Natfullin, Head of the Department of Networking, International and Interregional Cooperation of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Victoria Dautova and others.

In addition, national farmsteads with national cuisine worked. Kuzbass and Tatar artists performed with a large concert program.

Tatars are the second largest nationality in the region, from ancient times living on the land of Kuzbass. Today, there are more than 40 thousand Tatars in the region.
