The play "Salika" by Samara Theatre to be presented in Kazan

February 16 National Mari drama theater named after M. Shketan will present on the big stage of the Tatar State Academic Theatre after G. Kamal a musical comedy based on the play  by  S.Nikolaev "Salika".

The  performance "Salika"  is based on the play  by  the Mari playwright Sergey Nikolaev  deservedly has  entered the golden fund of the Mari National Theatre Drama after  M. Shketan. In the spring of 1936 in the literary department of  Mari state theatre  (then guided   by  S. G. Chavayn, now a classic, and the founder of the Mari literature) came  an unknown young writer Sergei Nikolaev and presented the play "Wedding  of  Polatov". In spring,  1937, a  premiere  was rendered to the committee on   adopting  the performances in a repertoire. Staging was  not accepted, and the director A. I. Mayuk- Egorov (the first director of the pro-Mari) a few months later was arrested and shot as an "enemy of the people." Later,  the  production was restored  director  S.Savelyev, and has been  on  for almost 77 years it  does not leave the scene of the Mari theater. Today, it is already the 10th jubilee production.

Directors  having  created  on the stage of the theater Mari, consider it an honor to put this play (Sergey Saveliev (1939, 1954), Alexander Butuzov (1942), Mark Tolchinskiy (1956), Sergei Ivanov (1966, 1973), Sara Kirillova (1976), Vasily Pekteev (1988, 1999), Vasily Domrachev (2004), and the actors dream to get a role in this performance. An  image of Salika -. it is a way of Mari Juliet. in this role (each time) starred  so talented and famous Mari actress, Nina Konakova, Panya Smirnova Anastasia Tikhonova, Maya Romanova,  Galina Yamaeva-Ivanova, Valentina Vasilieva, Valentina Moiseeva, Svetlana Gladysheva, Antonina Antonova, Zinaida Dolgova, Svetlana Stroganova, Alina Egoshina.

The  play was staged  in the years 1912-1914. The protagonists are orphans Salika and Echuk, loving each other. Both  work  for an  wealthy Ozi  Kuzi. It would seem, nothing prevents them to unite their destinies. But    villager Ozi  owes  money to  Kuzi,  another rich man  form  Akpay Polat,  and his wife just died and seeing Salik, he can not remain indifferent to the pretty little girl. Salika  forcibly  is  matched  for Aklay Polat. But rural youth decides to fight for the happiness of the Salica and Echuk ...

The play is a musical, it has a lot of interesting things from the life of the Mari people, national customs, rituals.

In the play the whole company of the  Mari theater is engaged. Starring young actors, graduates of the Higher Theater School (Institute) named after M. S. Schepkin (Moscow). In the role of Salika - actress Marina Vorontsova, Echuk - actort Igor Antropov,  Chopai – actor  Andrew Yarukov,  Marina -   actress  Svetlana Aleksandrova.

This evening in the lobby of the theater will be organized a photo exhibition. Actors  of the theatre will delight you by  playing the old Mari musical instruments. It provides an opportunity to buy a Mari  souvenir about  the evening.
