Kazan will host an exhibition "Zinaida Serebryakova"

April 24, 2015, at 16:00, the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan invites to the opening of the exhibition "Zinaida Serebryakova" from the collection of the State Russian Museum (St. Petersburg).

Zinaida Serebryakova - one of the first prominent women artists included in the history of painting. In her works, she focuses on the classical clarity of the pictorial language of the Renaissance and ancient Russian art, artistic principles of A.G. Venetsianov.

The exposition in Kazan, consists of 66 paintings and drawings, giving the opportunity to meet with different periods and the main themes, which are employed by Z. Serebryakova. Here the works written in a family estate Neskuchnye near Kharkov. Paintings of this period are turned to the peasant theme - "Harvest. Reaping "," Farmers' sketches to famous painting "Whitening canvas." The exhibition also presents the works created in Petrograd, where Serebriakova discovered a new topic - Ballet ("Dressing room Ballet "Swan Lake "," Portrait of a ballerina E.N. Geidenreich in Red "et al.). In Kazan also her self-portrait of 1911 presented.

In the first two rooms of the second floor of the exhibition "Zinaida Serebriakova (1884 - 1967): the description of creation on the background of the events of life." The copies of photographs, excerpts from diaries, letters, giving the opportunity to plunge into an era are presented, to feel the time in which lady artist lived, to see the faces of her family and her entourage, hear and feel her thoughts, her pain, her experiences.

The exhibition will run from April 24 to July 5, 2015.
