In Marseille, the performance of the Kazan Theatre named after V.I. Kachalov "The Cherry Orchard" by Anton Chekhov's play opened the 20th anniversary of the Festival of Russian Art

Yesterday, March 13 in Marseille,  the  play of  Kazan Academic Russian Drama Theatre  named after V.I. Kachalov "The Cherry Orchard" by Anton Chekhov's play opened the 20th anniversary the Festival of Russian art.

Before the start of the play,  the words of welcome to the actors and the audience,  the theater management  of "Turski",  Russian consul in Marseilles Alexei Popov addressed. In response, Alexander Slavutskii stressed the importance of preserving cultural relations and possibilities of interethnic communication in the language of art, even in the most difficult times.

"The Cherry Orchard"   of Kachalovsky   theater caused an unprecedented boom, the hall was a full house. For the French public the great plays of the great playwright staged by well-known and one of the favorite theaters became a landmark event. The audience greeted the final performance  by  applause and shouts of "Bravo".

Today, March 14,  kachalovtsers  again played "The Cherry Orchard", and on March 17,  the  festival audience will gather to see the scene of another work  of the Russian genius – kachalovtser’s  show "The Uncle's Dream" on the novel by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, the press service of the theater informs.
