Recently published  book by  Engel Tagirov "Planetary civilization in the mirror of  globalization" - edition undoubtedly deserving  close attention in 2014.

Its author - academician, rector of the Institute for the Culture of Peace, UNESCO, President of the International Humanitarian Academy "Europe-Asia", member of the Presidium of the Russian United Nations Association for promotion to  the UNO.

The only alternative is absolutely unprofitable, but only persistent   philosophy of war and the cult of violence, a culture of peace - this is the conclusion of the  work - surprisingly relevant, with a deep analysis of the ongoing processes in the modern world.

The appearance of the work by  a famous scientist in the Year of Culture is  symbolic. Perhaps this is one of the most significant events of the year, taking into account – how far  is important for mankind,  and how  far  topical issues   are  raised in it. In this case, it will certainly be as such, at least in the coming years.

Its  special actuality   comes up  against the background of today worldwide events.

Here are a few pieces that have prompted, I suppose, many thinking people to become more familiar with this book.

"... Feature,  which  A. Makiavelli   gave to  Ancient Rome, corruption of  values  setting " bread and circuses ", may be applicable to the moral state of the modern world community ... the human race from the current level of consumption, a way of life, consumer fetishes and information technological frills is threatened  by  degeneration  not only and not so much because of the erosion of dying, disappearing habitable and its reproduction  of the   environment.   The  trend away from humanism, its  expulsion  by  "humanitarian technologies", the dominance of technocratic thinking threatens  the transformation of society into  the "Technos",  victory  of transmodern, transhumanism over reason.

In fact, the avant-garde technology should contribute  not to strengthening these negative trends, but  the development of civilization and culture of the individual, to inspire, humanizing mankind ...

... The menace of change of epoch of civilization era   by new barbarism (a new type of savagery) now   has  acquired traits of reality ... The new barbarism involves an irreversible loss of culture, which has been worked out  for thousands of years ... The outcome of the confrontation of these two principles - of civilization and barbarism - depends on the present and future of the contemporary  world ...

... Appeal to spirituality, culture and morality dictated by the need to slow down the processes of degradation of man,  and lead humanity to the path of the rising progress ...

... The historic mission of the Information Society - is the transformation of the world market of goods   into the market models of life, a set of paradigms   life establishing paradigms...

... The purpose of a new humanism for the 21st century is comparable with the value of the phenomenon of the Renaissance, having freed  the  humanity from the shackles of medieval and opening  a new era - the era of New  times ... ".

Rector of the Russian Foreign Ministry MGIMO Torkunov, giving the highest evaluation of the  work   by  E.R.Tagirov, said: "Readers are offered  fundamental  historiosophy   scientific   work containing reflections   about "  the essence in the gleam   of  time. "The magnitude and depth, academic and simultaneously metaphoric of the author   thought stream  is impressive ... ".

And as stressed by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan  A. M. Sibagatullin in the preface to this book, "One can not but agree with the words  by  E.Tagirov: The sun    of culture will rise  - and  a rich harvest  will be  in the field of life,  if it fades  -  the course of history stops."

E.R.Tagirov’s  work was published in the framework of the United Nations' contribution to the scientific community "and under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

As stated in the summary of the book, it  is  "..designated for  a wide range of readers - from modern high-tech youth to professors, intellectuals, party-political elite and the spiritual hierarchy - all those who  are not indifferent about  where  from  and  where  is  moving  the locomotive of history "...

E.R.Tagirova’s work, taking into account the importance of the global problems raised in it, requires its translation into other languages.
