Tatar State Puppet Theater "Ekiyat" stage a play for adults

4 October 2017, Wednesday

The performance for the adult audience is prepared by the eminent director, artistic director of the Penza Regional Puppet Theater, artistic director of the Ulyanovsk Puppet Theater, People's Artist of the USSR V.M. Leontieva, Honored Artist of Russia, Laureate of the National Theater Award "Golden Mask" - Vladimir Biryukov.

The new work he devoted to those artists who carry art to the most remote corners of the world. That is why the history of the troupe of the puppet theater appeared in the story line, which went to a remote village in the winter with an out-of-town performance "The Night Before Christmas". A fragment from the nomadic life of the actor, which inadvertently gives a peep to the audience, becomes the original frame of Gogol's plot: in the end, we see the classic composition "theater in the theater." In this performance the troupe decided to turn to its origins - glove dolls. Virtually all the characters - the first beauty of the village Oksana,  smith Vakula,  Devil, Solokha,  Cossack Chub - will appear in their guise. However, the creators did not stop at this, unusual scenic solutions and scenery were invented and thought out. Thus, the queen Catherine, to whom she comes to ask for a gift for her beloved Vakula, will appear before the audience in the form of a tantamareski doll (in playing of such a doll, the face and hands of one or several actors are involved.) Generally, the person and the doll in this production will interact extremely closely . The most important thing, as the creators of the play say, they had a "funny, ironic, crafty and surprising" work "with a feeling of admiring nostalgia for times when people knew how to love irresponsibly."

The age limit of the performance is 12+.
