Yelabuga and Ufa are united by "The Great Silk Road"

On the Day of the Republic of Tatarstan, the opening of the exhibition "The Great Silk Road" from the collection of the Yelabuga State Museum-Reserve took place at the Ufa Art Gallery.

At the exhibition "The Great Silk Road", the Ufa Art Gallery presents 90 selected works from the collection of the Yelabuga State Museum-Reserve, made by participants of international art projects organized by the museum-reserve with the support of the Ministries of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan.

Guests have been welcomes  by  Honored artists of the Republic of Bashkortostan: Professor of the Ufa State Institute of Arts Amir Mazitov, Director of the Bashkir State Art Museum   after M.V. Nesterova,  Ayrat Teregulov, editor-in-chief of “Rampa” magazine Igor Tonkonogiy, members of the board of the Union of Russian Artists in Bashkortostan Rafael Kadyrov and Salavat Gilyazetdinov.  The Yelabuga State Museum-Reserve at the opening of the exposition was represented by Deputy Director General for Research Alexander Degotkov and  head of the Exhibition Hall Gulnara Podnoskova.

The national heritage and its creative rethinking in professional art is becoming more and more relevant in a contemporary artistic process in many countries of the world. This trend is actively supported by the Yelabuga State Museum-Reserve. All ongoing art events are aimed at preserving national traditions and developing creative interest in the ethnic originality of cultures of different peoples of the world.

For 12 years the Elabuga State Museum-Reserve has conducted 19 art projects, in which more than 600 artists from 20 countries took part. They created over 1100 works transferred to the funds of the YeSMR and included in the Museum Fund of the Russian Federation.

The best works of artists representing the culture of the multinational people of Russia and other countries   have formed the basis of the international exhibition project, the purpose of which is to exhibit pictorial and graphic works in the countries of near and far abroad.

Residents and visitors of Ufa will be able to visit the exposition "The Great Silk Road" until the end of September.
