From May 21 to May 27, 2017, in the city of Naberezhnye Chelny at the State Puppet Theater the II Interregional Theater Educational Forum "Rabochaya loshadka (Workhorse)" took place.
The forum was held in order to strengthen artistic ties and mutual enrichment of the theatrical culture of Russian cities, strengthening professional relationships of people of a rare profession puppeteers, popularization of puppet theater as a theater for all, regardless of age. For heads of theater groups the Forum "Workhorse" is an excellent opportunity to discuss many issues, trends and innovations in developing a theatrical sphere of Russia, suggesting not only a process of joint discussion and referring issues, but also the search for possible ways to address critical challenges ahead, trying to figure out how to make a Theatrical art the most popular in modern society. And this, in the first place, and setting quality performances for children and working with socially vulnerable layers of the population, revival of touring, and more of what there is in the end the successful future of culture in Russia.
By setting a good start in 2015, the Inter-regional theatrical educational forum "Workhorse" has proved to be not only a worthy continuation of the same name of the Chelny festival of puppet theaters, but also quite full, independent activities aimed at raising the level of skills, both creative and management staff of theater collectives.
The forum was attended by over 100 representatives from 18 leading theater companies of Russia from cities: Volgograd, Vorkuta, Vladimir, Dimitrovgrad, Izhevsk (Udmurtia), Yoshkar-Ola (Mari El Republic), Kstovo, Kirov, Naberezhnye Chelny, Ozersk, Samara, Surgut , Saransk (Republic of Moldova), Ulyanovsk, Ufa (Republic of Bashkortostan), Tula, Togliatti, Cheboksary (Chuvash Republic). Among them there are directors, directors of literary and dramatic part of the theater, heads of press services, PR-managers, artists, directors of the production section of the theater.
The teachers of the II Interregional Theater Educational Forum "Workhorse" included well-known theater critics, art historians, practicing teachers of the Republic of Tatarstan and Russia.
Every day, master classes, seminars, trainings and lectures were held in the building of the Puppet Theater and the Children's School of Theater Arts.
