April 14 at 15.00 at the Museum of the History of Statehood of Tatarstan an exhibition "Bilyar - The Great City" opens

In 2017, the Bilyar State Historical, Archaeological and Natural Museum-Reserve marks the 25th anniversary of its founding. In 2017,  the 50th anniversary of the Bilyar archaeological expeditionis marked. It  began its work in 1967 under the leadership of the well-known archaeologist Alfred Khalikov.

The exposition reflects a highly developed, original material and spiritual culture of this ancient city: objects of ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy, artifacts of military science, bone-cutting, pottery, glass and jewelry production, trade tools, and imports. Also visitors can get acquainted with the history of archaeological study of the Bilyar fortress. This section is represented by original manuscripts and works by  travelers and archaeologists of the late 18th and early 20th centuries, reports of the Bilyar archaeological expedition, field diaries and portraits of archaeologists, artistic reconstructions of architectural objects, photographs of the Bilyar fortress and the process of excavating it.
