Director Sergei Bataev has completed shooting of the short film "The Old War-Dog" with the participation of Vladimir Etush. In May, the legendary actor, whom even small children know, turned 96 years old. But he continues not only to work at the Vakhtangov Theater, but also to act in films.

In the film by S. Batayev, Etush played an old warrior who passed through the war, many things that survived, but still is aspiring into battle. The events in the film occur in the spring of 1945 in a remote Russian village. There the hero lives with his daughter and grandson. The close ones are tired of the quirks of Yegor Kuzmich. One day the old man will collect a clothes-bag and secretly leave in the direction of the front. The grandson will find him in the forest and bring him home. I'll have to lock my grandfather now, so as he not to run away.

The role of daughter was played by the actress of the Vakhtangov Theater Olga Tumaykina. For the role of a teenager, Arslan Bikbaev from Kazan was invited. Scenario by Alina Galiaskarova. The story is based on real events.

Reference: Sergey Bataev is a graduate of the Kazan Theater School, GITIS and the Academy of Cinematographic and Theatrical Art of Nikita Mikhalkov. Currently, he plays in the troupes of the Theater Actor and "Modern" Yuri Grymov.
