The State Symphonic Orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan under direction by Alexander Sladkovsky, opens the Third Festival of Tatar Academic Music named after Nazib Zhiganov "Miras"

On February 17, 21 and 24, concerts of the Third Tatar Music Festival named after N.Zhiganov "Miras" will be held at the S. Saidashev Grand Concert Hall.

The festival was created in 2015 by the artistic director and chief conductor of the State Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexander Sladkovsky. For  last years the festival bearing the name of the outstanding Tatar composer of XX century - Nazib Zhiganov, has firmly established itself as an example reflecting the richest musical heritage of Tatarstan, imbued with a unique national color. The program of three concerts of the festival included the music by  famous Tatar composers of different generations, whose works are connected with the history and modern culture of Tatarstan.

Art director of the festival is musicologist, head of scientific and creative projects, doctor of art history, professor, Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan Vadim Dulat-Aleev.

The first concert of the festival will be dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of Fuat Mansurov. At the opening of the festival, on February 17, the  works by Nazib Zhiganov - Symphony No. 2 "Sabantuy", which this year marks 50 years old, and a suite from the ballet "Nzheri" (concert version of A. Luppov), as well as music from Tatar ballets of different years : dances from the ballet "Water" by Anwar Bakirov, overture to the ballet "Kisekbash" by Rashid Gubaidullin, "Dance of Owls" from the ballet "Enchanted Boy" by Zagid Khabibullin, scenes from the ballet "The Tale of Joseph" by Leonid Lubovsky, scenes from the ballet "The Golden Horde" by Rezeda  Akhiyarova, scenes from the ballet "Yusuf and Zuleikha "Shamil Sharifullin. Conductor - People's Artist of Russia, art director of the festival Alexander Sladkovsky.

The second festival evening, February 21, will be dedicated to the famous musical dynasty Yarullins. The program of the evening is "March in Honor of Tukay" by Zagidulla Yarullin (orchestration by N. Zhiganov), Concerto for violin and orchestra by M. Yarullin, suite from the ballet "Shurale" by F. Yarullin (compilation and concert version of R. Abyazov), and also Symphonic poem "In memory of Farid Yarullin"    by  F.Akhmetov. Soloist - Maxim Monasypov. Conductor - Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, People's Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustem Abyazov.

The festival will be finished on February 24 with a concert dedicated to the 60th anniversary of People's Artist of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan, chairman of the Union of Composers of Russia and Union of Composers of the Republic of Tatarstan Rashid Kalimullin.

In the program: Suite on Tatar themes, "Symphonic Tales", "Symphonic Dances", "Symphonic Frescoes", Concerto for piano and orchestra, Concerto for violin and orchestra (premiere). The soloists are Fyodor Amirov (pianist), Gaik Kazazyan (violin). Conductor - Vasily Valitov.
