December 5 – Volunteers Day

5 December 2017, Tuesday

At  the Exhibition Hall of the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan (street Kremlyovskaya, 33) an exhibition devoted to the youngest holiday – Volunteers  Day has opened. The decree on the establishment of this date, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed on November 27, 2017.

Presented at the exhibition books and magazines from the library's collections tell the story of the development of the volunteer movement, its current state and prospects for development. The exposition contains numerous materials confirming the active participation of Tatarstanians in this good deed. This is a comprehensive assistance of volunteers to veterans, disabled people, seriously ill, elderly and lonely people, children in orphanages, as well as assistance in organizing mass cultural and sporting events. Universiade 2013 in Kazan - a vivid example of this. Visitors will be able to note one more interesting fact: the age of Russian volunteers is not limited only to student volunteers, now the "silver volunteers" movement is actively developing, in which the older generation participates.

The exhibition in the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan will run until December 15.

Address: Kazan, str. Kremlyovskaya, 33
