Tatarstan became the winner of the contest "The Most Readable Region" for the project "Cultural Diary of a Pupil"

The Republic of Tatarstan became the winner of the annual All-Russian contest "The Most Reading Region" for the project "Cultural Diary of a Pupil". The winners have been  awarded today in the Presidential Library of Yeltsin within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum. The diploma of the laureate of the contest was presented to the First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Elvira Kamalova.

In 2017, 84 regions became participants in the competition, four of them became laureates. Along with Tatarstan, this is the Kaliningrad Region - for the project "Days of Literature in the Kaliningrad Region", Moscow - for a new project on gratuitous transfer of written books to the population and St. Petersburg, which implemented the project "St. Petersburg 2017 - Great Book Revolution!".

The competition started in May 2017. Regions-participants were supposed to present the most significant literary project of the region for 2016-2017 as well as information on the development of the infrastructure of books and reading, literary traditions in the region.

The "Cultural Diary of a Pupil" is a cultural and educational project of Tatarstan implemented by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan under the patronage of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. This year the diaries have been  received  as  a gift  by 160,000 schoolchildren from the 1st to 4th grades. On the portal of the diary, pupils can manage their own blogs, sharing their impressions of visiting museums, theaters, exhibitions and libraries.
